How to care for your jewelry

Because all wye jewelry is designed and made to be passed down from generation to generation, we recommend that you take good care of your pieces. Here are some handy tips and tricks to make your jewelry last for years.

How to store my wye-jewelry?

All wye-jewelry comes with a handy box or bag. It is recommended to store your jewelry carefully, away from daylight but especially from moisture. Since each material (14kt gold, 18kt gold, diamond or other precious stones) has different hardnesses, we recommend that you store your jewelry separately.

Can I wear my golden jewelry at all times?

Since every piece of jewelry is handmade and delicate, please be careful. Even though all of our jewelry is made of solid gold, you could damage your jewelry by being careless. For example, when you are working intensively in your kitchen or garden, it is always better to protect your precious gemstones and golden jewelry by taking them off. When using chemical products such as perfume, chlorine or detergent, we strongly recommend that you take off your jewelry.

Can I clean my wye-jewelry?

Yes you can! If you don't have professional cleaning products or appliances available, just use a (very) soft toothbrush and some washing-up liquid (such as 'Dreft'). Clean your jewelry during and after cleaning by rinsing abundantly with water under your faucet. To successfully finish the cleaning, dry and polish up with a microfiber-towel. If you are in possession of an ultrasonic cleaner, pay close attention to which jewelry you clean with it. Not all gemstones are suitable for ultrasonic cleaning.
